Breast Care
Many women experience breast conditions over their lifetime. There are many benign or non-cancerous conditions that can be discovered. Some may experience symptoms, such as pain or nipple discharge, which may or may not indicate something more serious. You can feel comfortable discussing any breast health concerns you are experiencing with the team at North Okaloosa Physician Group - Women’s Health. We offer a range of screening and diagnostic services.
Our breast care services include:
- Evaluating suspicious lumps
- Treatment of breast pain
- Benign breast condition evaluation
- Fibrocystic disease treatment

- Mammography/women’s imaging
- Breast cancer screening and diagnosis
Early detection of breast cancer is one of our most important services. We recognize that a diagnosis of cancer or even the possibility of cancer may be extremely stressful to patients. Our physicians and staff understand these concerns. Our sensitivity includes providing timely results to minimize the anxiety associated with any uncertain situation.
We encourage women to stay on top of annual screenings. For women of average risk, the American College of Radiology recommends annual screening mammograms starting at age 40, with no upper age limit as long as the woman is in good health. Different guidelines apply to women at higher risk.* A screening mammogram can help detect breast cancer in its earliest and most treatable stages.

Appointments are on a first-come, first-served basis. An order from a physician or qualified healthcare provider is required. If the patient does not have a physician/provider and would like help finding one, the hospital may be able to provide assistance. All mammogram reports will be sent to the physician/provider selected by the patient, and the patient is responsible for follow-up.
If you do not have a physician/provider and would like help finding one, call our Physician Referral Line at 850-689-8446 or visit our Find a Doctor directory on our website.

Check with your insurance provider to confirm coverage for a screening mammogram. If you do not have insurance, options may be available to help with the cost. Our patient access team members are ready to help, Monday through Friday, and can be reached at 850-682-2475 option 1.
